IEP Assistant Creates Quality IEPs
Several years of excellent performance demonstrate our quality. Here are some comments:
“TABSoft’s IEP Assistant works extremely well for us. It is easy to use, mistakes are minimized, and it is adaptable to our specific needs.” – Dr. Lee Howard, Assistant Superintendent for Special Services
“The IEP Committee process is more complete as teachers follow the outline in IEP Assistant. It ensures that the teachers cover all the items required by state regulations.” – Mary Aksentis, DSS Supervisor
“Tom created a software program for the Individual Educational Program (IEP) for Marietta City Schools. This program included all forms that were required to complete an IEP for students. The program provided security and confidentiality that is necessary for student records. He met with teachers, staff, and administrators within our Department of Special Services on a regular basis to discuss updates and to provide training. He consistently provided tech support to teachers, staff, and administrators. The program provided the ability for the IEP to be emailed to the records department to be uploaded into the student folder. Tom set up a server at the Department of Special Services that housed the folders of all Special Services Students. He provided back up and tech support for the server. Changes or corrections were easily made. No more striking through or starting over from scratch. Records management was quick and immediate. His knowledge and ability to develop a comprehensive, user-friendly program met all the expectations of teachers, staff, and administrators within the Department of Special Services.” – Jamie Bergbauer,  Special Education Records Manager (Retired)

More About Individualized Education Programs
In the U.S. an Individualized Education Program (IEP) is mandated by the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). An IEP defines the individualized objectives of a child who has been found with a disability, as defined by federal regulations. The IEP is intended to help children reach educational goals more easily than they otherwise would. In all cases the IEP must be tailored to the individual student’s needs as identified by the IEP evaluation process, and must especially help teachers and related service providers (such as paraprofessional educators) understand the student’s disability and how the disability affects the learning process. The IEP describes how the student learns, how the student best demonstrates that learning and what teachers and service providers will do to help the student learn more effectively. Developing an IEP requires assessing students in all areas related to the known disabilities, simultaneously considering ability to access the general curriculum, considering how the disability affects the student’s learning, forming goals and objectives that correspond to the needs of the student, and choosing a placement in the least restrictive environment possible for the student. After the child is determined to be eligible for special education services, the IEP team is required to develop an individual education plan to be implemented as soon as possible after eligibility is determined. Using the results of the full individual evaluation (FIE), the IEP team works together to identify the child’s present level of educational performance, the child’s specific academic, and any related or special services that the child needs in order to benefit from their education. When developing an IEP, the team must consider the strengths of the child, the concerns of the parent for their child’s education, results of the initial or most recent evaluation of the child (including private evaluations conducted by the parents), and the academic, developmental, and functional needs of the child. In the case of a child whose behavior impedes the child’s learning or that of other children, the team is required to consider the use of positive behavioral interventions and supports to address the behavior.
